Animated GIF or moving/blinking postings not allowed

A clear policy regarding not allowing GIFS to be posted on the Forum
was apparently lost as a result of the unfortunate site crash on January 01, 2024. 

The previous GIF policies that survived the site crash was a policy post authored by Susan:
                Photo, avatars, and signature policy

The above policy was then supplemented with another policy statement authored by Nero:
                No animated GIF or moving/blinking avatars or sigs please
            https://www.susans.org/index.php/topic,167533.msg1455256.html#msg1455256

The bottom line is:
Animated GIF or moving/blinking postings, avatars, signatures, GIFS are not allowed to be posted 
on the forum or used in profile Avatars and Signatures.

Yeah I remember that. There was kind of a craze for people to use weirdly animated banners in their signatures and animated avatars. The 2010's, lol. It's not really good for anyone. And not necessary.

It's mostly just avatars and banners. Banners in signatures especially. I remember there was a run on them back in the day. Back before social media was a thing. The cess pool formally known as Twitter, and Youtube and whatever. Even before Discord. When Forum software was like... the in thing. I was guilty of making some animated avatars. Not like Cyberpunk 2077 Braindance seizure inducing avatars, but I did. Because... I dunno.

We all grow up. , well, most of us, lol.
