I have been watching the VA website to see just how far they will go with this lunacy.

Of special interest to us is the LGBTQ+ Health Program page. https://www.patientcare.va.gov/lgbt/

On this page, the VA tells us:

VA is committed to creating a welcoming environment and improving healthcare for everyone, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) Veterans. VA staff play a critical role in ensuring that LGBTQ+ Veterans receive the care they need and have earned in service to our country.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) welcomes all Veterans, families, caregivers, and survivor beneficiaries, including diverse gender identities and sexual orientations. "LGBTQ+" refers to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer identities. LGBTQ+ Veterans have faced bias and discrimination, which can affect health.

At Veterans Health Administration (VHA), we aim to make sure that LGBTQ+ Veterans know that they are welcome.

The sidebar on the right side of the page has a few boxes. One is LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinators.

Below that is "LGBTQ+ Health Program Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Program" which would allow you to download a copy of VA Directive 1340, titled "Provision of Health Care for Veterans Who Identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Queer". That link is now broken.

Below that box was a link to download a copy of VA Directive 1341, titled "Providing Health Care for Transgender and Intersex Veterans". That link has been replaced. Now it allows you to download a copy of the Memo that rescinds VA Directive 1341(4).

Ironically, or hypocritically, just left of where it tells you how they are rescinding healthcare for Transgender and Intersex Veterans is:

Mission Statement
Provide national leadership through policy, education, advocacy, and innovative data-driven programs to promote LGBTQ+ Veteran health and well-being.

Vision Statement
Build a VA that LGBTQ+ Veterans trust to provide affirming care and services to help them thrive.

EPIC FAIL.

I guess they should relabel this to "LGBQ."

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Is all of this Elon Musk's revenge on his trans daughter?  According to the Wikipedia article on Vivian Wilson, Musk said that "Vivian's gender transition is primarily what sparked his drive to 'destroy the woke mind virus'".

It is typical of tyrants that when they are unhappy about something that affects them, everyone has to suffer.

Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after,
And the poetry he invented was easy to understand;
He knew human folly like the back of his hand,
And was greatly interested in armies and fleets;
When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter,
And when he cried the little children died in the streets.

If there was ever an incentive for a girl disowning her dad.

Four words... "Grow the f**k up!"

These manbabies are younger than the people they have around them.

Thankfully this obnoxiousness hasn't yet, and hopefully won't reach the more sensible parts of the world.

Unfortunately, it is here already.  We are trying desperately to keep it out of government.  Say prayers for our election, April 28th.

I am with you, Kathy. You would be better joining the EU, than seceding to your off the rails next door neighbours. I have everything crossed for Canada that you continue to be another voice of common sense. Your country is massively beautiful, and fiercely independent. Even as a commonwealth country. I saw the stuff Trudeau said. I know you have elections on but that guy seemed kind of smart. And not willing to give in to BS. You folks have to vote based on the threat of the south. To keep the hateful secret of L'Oreal out of your politics. He's not worth it.

Yep. I already knew as much. I get therapy from the VA. I like my therapist. But the VA will never send me to an endocrinologist or to a surgeon. Unless I insist they cure my gynecomastia.

And yet it is people like you and Lori, and every US veteran on this site, and worldwide... that enable this discrimination through the people in power who were too cowardly to ever serve in the military. They have the power to be scumbags because people believed in the idea of freedom and everyone being treated right.

I am all in favor of the VA paying for medical, dental, and psychological care for our vets, including transgender related care.
It is a benefit for their service.  There must be some rule as to how long you have to serve to get these benefits, LORI likely knows (let us know!) as I would not want someone to just join the military and leave in a day or two JUST TO GET BENEFITS and not to serve.  I suppose that could not or rarely happens any way.

I am NOT in favor of the tax paying public otherwise directly paying for transgender care.
That includes anyone other than veterans.  The care can be provided of course even to the incarnated but at their own personal expense.

THANK YOU to ALL veterans, which is including active duty military, for serving.

There are a number of qualifications that must be met to qualify for VA benefits.
