Many times. Any time we went on vacation, always by train of course, we'd ride to the station in a taxi. Most often, it would be the old
Austin FX3 model. The passenger (left front) side was open instead of having a door, and that was where the luggage went. Though there was also a "boot" [Amer.: trunk] for small items.
When we emigrated to Canada, we spent a few days in London on our way to the ship. The London cabs by that time were the newer, classic "black cab" design that most people are familiar with.
