By the way, an interesting addendum to this.

The technician said she thought it would be worth my while having 1 or 2 sessions using her IPL this winter to shift some red pigmentation and quarterize veins. She said I'd really notice the difference with my overall complexion.

Why IPL? Because of the different spectrum at which it operates.

It needs to be in the winter because it really needs no suntan.

I hadn't heard this suggestion before about IPL.

I suspect the impressions of a 'tourist' are far different than those of an emigrant. That's very sweet and kind of you.

I would say that having recently passed 60 the nomadic life is getting harder. I find long haul flying takes more out of me (quite aside from the damage to the environment) and jet lag recovery is lengthier. Additionally, I like my comforts a little more and the rhythms and routines are more important.

In essence: is nomadic life a young girl's game?

I've just booked another fortnight in Ireland in September, to visit a different area. I think you're absolutely right about the difference between a tourist visit and living there.

My aim right now, irrespective of whether I nip to Thailand and Australia in October & November, is to move to Ireland early in the New Year. I would go sooner but I have a sense that autumn is not the most sensible time to begin a permanent resettlement.
