Allegedly Insensitive Letter Written About New D.C. Firefighter

WASHINGTON -- The D.C. Fire Department said it is investigating after an insensitive letter was read inside a city firehouse.

The letter contained possible allegations and derogatory comments about a new crew member.

Witnesses said the letter was read aloud by a fire department lieutenant at Engine 30 on 49th Street Northeast. They said the lieutenant was asked to stop reading the letter at least once, but he continued."
