Have you eaten rolled wafers?  Such as Piroulines.

They are long rolled wafer cookies, and are crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside.

It is often served as a garnish for a dessert, or can be eaten by itself.

In Germany, my in-laws would give me tins of them for Christmas. They are okay. I kept some of the tins because they are cylindrical and make a handy storage can for small parts.

Sometimes leftover canisters can find secondary uses.
