April Marie

My wife and I go to the hairdresser every five weeks - started going about 6 months after I began growing my hair out. It has been so empowering to watch the changes in growth and styling over the past year and a half. I feel blessed to still have a full head of hair at a few weeks short of 70. I have used a prescription mixture of minoxidil and finasteride to fill in a thin spot from wearing a helmet for so many years - it worked very well for me.

Anyone else get that same happy feeling after getting your hair done?
With much love,

Nice! I've been a little hesitant about going myself. From what I've read, for my Type 3 (Curly) 3A hair, I am supposed to go every 4 to 6 months at least to trim the ends.

It's been almost a year since I started growing mine out, definitely feels like it's time for a visit!

I love this April, I am keeping this prescription mixture of minoxidil and finasteride in a safe place just in case I need it at 70.  ;D

April Marie, I haven't even had hair for more than a decade. I am so envious! But if I did have hair, I think going to beauty shop would almost be like to going to church. Enjoy.

Instead of being chastised for your sins, the stylist would chastise you for not taking better care of your hair!

My first gender-affirming hair appointment left me with a style I hated. I gave the stylist another chance a few weeks later, and she made me cry. It was the first time I saw 'her' in the mirror. It gave me hope. Although I don't go as often as I would like, I still visit the same stylist.

Love always -- Jessica Rose

It is always a nice, affirming gush of pleasure for me that permeates during and after the hair stylist appointment.

I like going to the  hairdressers.  Usually  just have a micro trim to maintain the  length.  Sometimes  get a French  braid or updo

I'm going tomorrow for a consultation with a hairstylist to explore some style ideas, my first time getting my hair done as a woman!

They're located in the West Village, right near Stonewall... so exciting!

This is going to be such a fun and affirming experience.

Thank you so much, April, for the inspiration!
