Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I tried that. No... just no. My best friend is vegan. And she's always craving bacon. Comes up with all these weird and wonderful concoctions that are supposed to taste like it but... just don't. Turkey bacon is what happens when you take the masking tape off your walls after you've just finished painting and think "Mmmmm... I need lunch!"

Food illusionists can work miracles these days, but they can't beat nature. I want a 100% genuine steak, running free with myoglobin, cooked by a master. Not some facsimile by people in a lab thinking they know how to make artificial biomass taste even remotely the same. This is why carnivores literally exist. It's a thing. Has been since the dawn of time. :P

Amen to that. I have no hate against vegans, but just let me have my steak and eggs.

This is not my favorite snack.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Holy wow! I'm just getting caught up in this thread, what a discussion!  :)

I'll offer up some pearls of wisdom...not something I'm accused of every day of the week.  ;D

We watched a video, I don't remember what it was called but "Will it bacon?" would probably find it. The guy's bacon collection would reduce Noah to tears.

The supermarket here sells precooked pork knuckles in a two pack; one for now and one for later. It's delicious.

Guanciale is the cured cheek of a pig. It's traditionally used in carbonara. Also delicious.

I have had this!

As a kid, I helped my stepdad butcher a hog. He called it "jowl bacon," but we cooked it like any other bacon. I didn't notice any difference in taste; it just seemed to be more fat than meat, so maybe that is why I wasn't as impressed as he was with it.
