The last few days, my emotions have gotten more intense. I knew this was going to happen when I started HRT. It's turning out to be more intense than I expected. Seemingly out of nowhere, I'll get hit with huge surge of emotions... moody, grumpy, happy, sad, overwhelmed, energetic, etc. recently, I've been feeling all of these things at the same time. I'm having a rough time dealing with it

Dances With Trees

Wishing you all the best, Alana! I seem to have levelled off after my first week on Estradiol (though my normal state is a hybrid offspring of a babbling brook and a flitting butterfly) perhaps because my primary wouldn't prescribe spiro. All in all, I'm feeling more in line with the person I seem to be now than my memory of who I was a little more than a week ago. Hope you experience something similar despite the current turbulence.

I had similar issues when my hormone levels were too low. It got to where I could predict my "bad" days, as they were often the day before my next dose. In addition to that, I would get hot flashes and night sweats. It is miserable, but hang in there.

Your body is adjusting, but try to pay attention to when these feelings happen. See if they seem to have some relationship with your dosing, and let your doctor know. They can get labs done to see where your levels are and how they might need to be tweaked.

Eventually, things will level off. When it gets rough, pamper yourself with a warm bath and a relaxing cup of tea.

It seems to happen like clockwork a few hours after I take my hrt meds. Everyday about 4-5 hours after I take my meds, it hits. My paperwork says I'm due for bloodwork in August.

The labs will tell the story. It isn't only when hormone levels are falling, but when they are changing. It would not surprise me if your body was adjusting to having the hormones it has been missing for so long.

If you are taking oral doses daily, you might need something more like a twice-weekly patch, or even weekly injections. In my experience, that helped smooth things out instead of rollercoastering every day. When you get your lab results, talk to your doctor and see what they say.

I hope you get it resolved quickly.

Hugs!
