What are the best or most liked by you TV shows of all time?

You can mention TV series or a special one-time show.  You can state your choices by type of show (comedy, game show, mystery, science fiction, reality TV, history, western, military, etc.), and so on.

You may wish to explain why you think shows you selected were good, any favorite episodes, etc.

If the TV show is a remake of an original, please make the "version" of the show clear.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Great topic!

Favourite shows for me

X-Files - The series before Mulder left the show. They were kooky and cool and I could never get enough of Scully's hairstyle!

Twin Peaks - Just blew me away with the depth of originality, plot twists and some genuine frights. Once the person who killed Laura Palmer (no spoilers here) was revealed the show did falter a bit. But such a revelation to watch

Downton Abbey - I'm British so I have to say this, but try Brideshead Revisited if you want a different slice of aristocracy on TV

Have I got News for You - Satirical news quiz on the BBC. In an age when everything seems too much this show cuts through and makes me laugh instead of crying.

There are loads more I can think of - but lets see what others have to share

I've always been a sci-fi fan. Firefly and Babylon 5 are quite high on the list, along with Stargate and the spin offs. There's probably a few others, but I can't think of them right now.

big kim

Spooks a spy thriller with gripping  storyline and  each series ended on a cliffhanger.
Waking the dead a cold case police series with great characters  and plots. Recommend the Subterraneans,In sight of the Lord and Skins episodes.
The first 4 seasons of Dexter.  Gets a bit the same after season 4
Sons of Anarchy, great storys and character development. Terrific acting especially from Kim Coates as Tig the clubs cold blooded Sgt at Arms when he realises he's framed his best friend and the  love scene with his trans girlfriend. Also Theo Rossis descent from a carefree young lad into a murdering suicidal rat.
Mayans MC a spin off with guest appearances  from SOA characters
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Brilliant show
