Now, we have a symbol that truly represents who we are: a magnificent phoenix with wings spread wide, rising triumphant.

The phoenix has long been a symbol of transformation, rebirth, and rising from the ashes. For our transgender community, this speaks directly to our journeys — emerging from struggle into our authentic selves, stronger and more radiant than before.
The Inclusive DesignEvery detail of this phoenix was chosen with love and care:
🕊The Wings – Colored in the transgender pride flag's pink, blue, and white, the wings embody hope, identity, and transformation.
✊ The Body – Rendered in black and brown, honoring our Black and brown transgender family members who face unique challenges and deserve to be seen and represented from the very start.
🔥 The Phoenix Itself – A universal emblem of resilience and the strength it takes to live authentically in this world.
A Welcome That MattersWhen new members join Susan's Place, they will now be greeted by a symbol that says: You belong here. Your journey matters. You are part of something beautiful.
Existing members will keep their chosen avatars, but for those just joining, the phoenix ensures that no one begins their journey here unseen.
Rising TogetherJust like the phoenix, our community continues to rise, grow, and become more inclusive every day. This avatar is not only a symbol of individual transformation, but of our collective commitment to building a space where every transgender person — regardless of race, background, or where they are in their journey — can find support, understanding, and home.
