Oklahoma's infamous MAGA head of education wants to bring the late Charlie Kirk's anti-LGBTQ+ organization to the state's high schools.

On Tuesday, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters took to X to announce his plan to bring Turning Point USA to all Oklahoma high schools.

"I'm excited to announce today that every Oklahoma high school will have a Turning Point USA chapter," Walters said in a video message. "We have seen the outpouring from parents, teachers, and students that want to be engaged in the meaningful work going on at Turning Point."

He went on to claim that "for far too long we have seen radical leftists with the teachers' union dominate classrooms and push woke indoctrination on our kids."

Walters' announcement comes two weeks after Kirk, an anti-LGBTQ+ Christian Nationalist activist and close ally of the president, was shot and killed during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on September 10. Amid the grief and shock over Kirk's tragic death, Republicans and Christian conservatives have waged a broad campaign to lionize Kirk as a martyr to their ideological cause and to cast "leftist organizations," and particularly the transgender community, as "domestic terrorist threats."

Republican lawmakers in Oklahoma proposed a bill this week that would require all public colleges and universities in the state to build a "Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza" that includes a statue of the late conservative activist.

The bill was introduced by state Sens. Shane Jett and Dana Prieto.

It says that the memorial must be in "a prominent area" on the main campus of every public college and university in the state.

The bill says the memorial must include "a statue of Charlie Kirk sitting at a table with an empty seat across from him" or one of Kirk and his wife holding their children.

Designs for the statue must be approved by the legislature, the bill says.

The bill says that if schools do not comply with building a memorial, they will face monthly fines.

The bill also mandates that the schools take measures to protect their memorials from vandalism and automatically expel any students caught defacing them, the Guardian reports.

According to research from Puck last week, 70% of students surveyed, at community colleges, technical colleges, trade schools, and public and private four-year institutions, said that they disagreed with Kirk's views. Just 30% said they agreed with what he had to say.
