Interesting piece on ABC Australia TV, 7:30 report report tonight

There was an interesting piece on transgender conversion therapy tonight which dates back to the 70s and 80s
Interestingly some of the so called medical reports are being quoted today even though they are wrong. I'm pretty sure some of this misinformation is likely to be, or has been used to dismiss trans people.

Sorry I can't link to it but it will be somewhere on ABC.net.au  the show is called 7:30 report and the segment is only really short right at the end.

I hope this is not triggering for anybody.

Given there is an ongoing review into paediatric gender treatments in Australia, this article and the MJA review of the Cass Review https://www.mja.com.au/journal/2025/223/7/cass-review-does-not-guide-care-trans-young-people 🔗 are timely and may have a significant impact on potential misinformation which may be used to sway the Paediatric Review.

Hopefully those outside Australia will be able to access these valuable reports to invalidate the misinformation being pushed by conservatives.

This issue is coming up before the U.S. Supreme Court as well. The issue is whether state laws banning conversion therapy violate the First Amendment right to Free Speech.
