Yirgachefe or Kenyan green beans, roasted by me the preceeding day, in a small batch, to the perfect color and oilyness. Ground before brewing, in a good press pot. Soy milk and a bit of sugar added to the cup. Drink slowly.
Ohhhhhhhh!!
But roasting sets off the damn fire alarms as much as not.

I doubt I could function without at least one cup of hot black during the day. Particularly in the mornings, since I am naturally nocturnal. But I don't really like sweet drinks, so I prefer it very strong, very black, and without any form of sugar or sweetner in it at all.

And never decaffeinated. :)

The best brand I ever had was one called 'Rocket Fuel', which contained guarana. Whoosh! Talk about a wake up call. ;D

I like my coffee the way I like my motorcycles. BLACK and HOT!  The darker the better.  four shot espresso is acceptable, too.

Love,

The only way I would get on a motorcycle would be if it had a side car, custom made for Wing Walker.  ;D

Hi Leiandra, I don't believe we met, I love your avatar. Both my partner and I like our coffee strong enough to float the Titanic on it. But then I only drink two maybe three cups of coffee in a day, depending how often we happen to drive by a Tim Horton's coffee shop. I am also nocturnal, My intentions might be on going to bed early but the earliest I get to bed is at 3:00am. I like the night where it's quiet and one can let the mind go hither and yon all it pleases. But I don't like getting up late and miss the morning either. But it all works out ok I just don't worry about when to go to sleep I just go when I feel the urge.

My favorite way to drink coffee is "frequently."  ;)

usually it's regular drip with 2 sweet-n-low and some half-n-half. when I splurge, it's a 16oz, 4 shot, raspberry/mocha. YUM

Espresso has no more caffeine, and in most cases less, than a regular cup of coffee.  Its all in your head.

I like my coffee with five packs of Splenda (sweeter than real sugar--I use less) and a bit of real milk. I never really understood coffee as a stimulant. Maybe I drink too much caffeine (I'm cutting back, actually), but I've never used coffee to "wake up". I just drink it 'cause I like it, and sometimes the best time to drink it is right before bed!

I've always been partial to a strong, dense cup of fresh coffee that I'll roast and grind myself.  I use beans chosen by me, and I'm rarely disappointed.
The best source for beans or equipment that I've found on the Internet is http://www.sweetmarias.com/

They also roast several varieties in small batches every week. If you've an interest in coffee, take a look!

Cream and Suger and sometimes Irish Cream flavoring.   prefere to have real Bailey's Irish cream but can't have alcohol where I live.
Every day we pass people, do we see them or the mask they wear?
If you live under a mask long enough, does it eventually break or wear down?  Does it become part you?  Maybe alone, they are truly themselves?  Or maybe they have forgotten or buried themselves so long, they forget they are not a mask?

There was an article titled "Brewed Awakening" in a recent issue of Bitch magazine about coffee culture and misogynist propaganda. How coffee is masculinized in America and supposed to be the drink of "real men" as opposed to tea which is feminized and supposed to be only for women and sissies.

But in the Coffee Cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, the characters are a daughter who's addicted to coffee, and her dad who tries to force her to quit it.

eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

LOL...   Don't know where I would fit in that :P   I like both Coffee and Tea, though usually both are sweetened, and sometimes 9not all time) flavored.  And the coffee having cream as well lol

Lately been drinking more peach flavored sugerfree tea.  Find if it has the peach flavor I can do without real suger.  Think it has helped with the weight loss too

I've never actually drunk coffee, think it smells awful. I guess it might taste better than it smells but I'm not really interested in finding out.

How surprising... most people who refuse coffee say they love the aroma but dislike the taste.

Well I love coffee, black and strong, like Emily Saliers sang about in the Indigo Girls' song "Last Tears."

I'm gonna rack my mind one last time
until I cannot think
I'm gonna dip into your memory
and take a good stiff drink
and when I'm drunk on the last drop of sadness
about how we went wrong
I'm gonna play this song
make some coffee black and strong
give thanks for healing time
finally make up my mind.

Only thing I love better than coffee is Indigo Girls, and they go well together. Emily has sung about black coffee in several of her songs.
