When Diego Sanchez attends the Democratic National Convention in Denver this August, he'll be making history.

Sanchez, the director of public relations and external affairs for AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, is the first transgender person to be named to a convention committee.

"I think that it shows that the Democratic Party is committed to full inclusion, and looking at the seven LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people, they didn't select quiet people. They selected leaders. People who are leaders in their area of expertise, who are avid and experienced as well as strong purveyors of policy," said Sanchez.

Great News!
