Two days ago, I sat through a lecture on "Care of the Transgender Patient" and learned quite a bit that I wasn't aware of before. For those of you who are unfamiliar, what does transgender mean? Simply, it's a non-identification or non-representation of the gender that one is assigned at birth. The prevalence is considered to include 26 million people in the US since it's often seen as an umbrella encompasing Transsexuals, cross-dressers, and androgyny in many studies.
