Brian noticed the late Freddie, who died from an Aids-related illness in 1991, was "flamboyant" but was too focused on his music to realise anything else.

I did an early 80s US tour with Queen, if Brian didn't notice, everyone else did.  The backstage full of boys - not girls - should have tipped him off.  No matter, a better set of pipes for live rock singing can not be found.  In concert Freddie was awesome.  Even if the band left the stage and played a tape of the Bohemian deal in one of the oddest moments I've ever witnessed.
