I always wanted to go to space, I would give anything to leave the atmosphere ans free float around looking down at earth.

Then i learned what were the requirements to be a astronaut, and being that I was only a B student, it was already out of my reach.

Hey Mara,
It depends on my age. When I was really super young, like 6 or 7 I wanted to be an astronaut and a drummer. Then when I was like 9 or 10 to about 12 or 13 I wanted to be a veterinarian. My high school yearbook said my ambition was to be: "a businessman working with equities and building businesses." LOL!!! You think I was trying to prepare myself for life as a guy :)  Yeah. Then when I got into college I completely changed what I wanted to do. I had my heart set on being an English Professor. I switched major and got a degree in English Lit with minors in Philosophy and Latin. Then I wanted to go to law school. Then I got in the business world and recently, I've been pondering what I REALLY want to do with my life.

I think I'd really like and do well at being a therapist. We'll see how that pans out for me :) Meghan

Nice question by the way Mara!

I don't remember exactly what i wanted to to when I grew up and I am still not sure what I want to be when I grow up.  I think that going to school to be an RN will be a step in the right direction.

Now I'm going to school to be a doctor.  If I can somehow keep my grades high enough.

Do not put a block in front of you. People are buying their way into space. Be creative and look at life as an adventure not a job. Do what you want, not what society dictates you should do or the way you should do it. Know when to recognize marketing and have the intelligence to judge it for your desires not for the desire of the seller.

I wanted to do whatever I felt like and have a positive effect on the world.

I've worked real hard at avoiding growing up.  Interestingly enough most of the people I meet would love to have my job, or the one I had before.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Grow up? I don't think so....to much responsibilty. I do often think though that ruling the world would be a pretty cool job...

I wanted to work in the space program.  I almost took a job working on a prototype of the space telescope at Boeing.  But other family forces were at work keeping me in the state of Utah.  You have to be from there to understand.

I've had a pretty good career as an electrical engineer.  I've been able to work in many different jobs from design work to marketing and everything in between.  Now I'm winding down to retire next month.... or move on to the next thing. I'm still relatively young and I live in a wonderful place.  There's not much work around these parts and I truly don't care!

Things I wanted to be:
Priest (but then I became a witch instead)
Farmer (but I then moved to a big city instead)
Vet (but I couldn't stand the sight of blood)
Police (but I hate when people yell)
Xerox Tech Rep (that's what my dad was)
Artist (turns out I prefer it as a hobby)
Computer repairman (I owned a computer repair shop, I decided I hated it)
But most of all I wanted to be a computer programmer.

In the end I became the programmer.

Hi Kiera, no problems. The last time I got abducted by Aliens I talked them into letting me pilot their ship. I will tell you though, that from my earliest recollections I have always been obsessed with space flight, the planets, especially Mars. Mars is my favorite she hasn't been a disappointment at all. Now that NASA has actually discovered and are admitting that the planet was once a water world 33,000, 000 years ago. I spent a lot of time in imagination back then and heck I still do. Too much reality can be detrimental to the mind. Mind might turn to mush, you know. I wouldn't want to turn into a neut, no way do I want that to happen. I like weird, more fun.
