Before we run off to throw the executioner's switch, let's stop to consider how we, as a society, may have prevented this horrible child-on-child violence. How did the child (a 14-year-old is still a child, in my estimation) get such a lethal weapon? Should guns be so freely accessible? How did he learn to hate? How is this fear and hatred of another human being generated in our society?
