Hey I am new to the forum part of susans, but I have been on the website many times reading about ftm's. I am a bio female but I am mentally a male.  I have always thought this but just recently figured out the term transgendered.  I havent gone through any transitions yet although I cant wait to do it. I dress as a boy and more often than not can pass as one.  I love acting like a guy. I am just like Jaded, love when people call me him.  I have a girlfriend and a little boy together.  They are my life. But my girlfriend Lizz doesnt want me to go through hormone therapy.  But that is something I really want to do.  Also my family doesnt know about me either which makes it harder for me to act like myself around them. But anyway my girlfriend was straight when I met her (but even though she knew I was girl) but since I looked like a boy and I guess charmed her, she fell for me, as I for her, she just doesnt understand what I am going through. She just thinks I am a major butch lesbian. Every time I try to teach my son to call me daddy, she gets mad ands says "your not a boy!".  That hurts so much, because inside I am a boy.  Its just hard sometimes, so its good to hear from other people who are going through the same. ???

Welcome Cam. It can be very hard with a partner, trying to sort out what you want/need to do with respect to transition. Especially if they're lobbying for one thing or another.

Enjoy your visits to Susan's, have a look at the rules, and feel free to ask anything or share anything that's within the rules.

Hello Camio

Welcome to Susan's.  I hope you enjoy your stay here and the we are able to help with any situations and issues that you may have.  You will find lots of friendly helpful folks here from all walks of life.  Try to take part where you can and be sure to check out the Wiki, Chat, and the other Forums here.

Therapy is definitely an important first step if you plan on transitioning, and i would do that before making any commitments either way, just to ensure that you are not making a mistake.  Therapy will not answer all your questions but it will serve as a way of sorting out the issues that you have and revealing others.

As you mentioned in your intro you are experiencing the first instances of resistance to transition, and while it can get better there will undoubtedly be times when it will get worse.  Just be sure of what you want and don't rush things, slow and steady is not so bad.  One of the keys to all this is communication.  Don't shut anyone out, and be honest and open.

Well i've rambled on long enough, again welcome :)

Chat later.
