Hospital Apologizes to Trans Woman

Last month a story about Seton Medical Center's discrimination against Charlene Hastings received national attention. Hastings, a transgendered woman, applied for a breast augmentation procedure at the Catholic hospital, which was immediately denied. Hastings reported being told by the hopsital that "God made you a man". Thanks to Hastings's strength in sharing her story and aiding the fight for transgender rights, Seton Medical Center has issued an apology, invited her back for the procedure and promised to change their policy on discriminating against the trans community. Here is San Francisco's CBS 5 report on the apology.
