Depression is huge.I do not know what to do.Transition is hard.I also had a break up.But i blame the hormones for my depression.IT IS HUGE.am i wrong?is it just transition it self?
You really need to speak to your gender therapist , your endo, and your psychiatrist.
my transition seems to be leading me out of the depression i've suffered for more than 20 years. since starting my transition, i have taken a much more active role in dealing with my depression, which includes seeing a psychiatrist for it and taking Celexa, an ssri-type anti-depressant.
ssri's have drug interaction dangers that can really mess you up. you always have to think about any other drug before taking it. you can't even take cough medicine which contains dextromethorphan while on an ssri. that means, a lot of label-reading, and ongoing research about your particular ssri. it's a real project.
but, on the other hand, ssri's really work, in my opinion. but, there are a number of different ssri's, and you have to get the right one. you have to work with your psychiatrist to help pinpoint which one is best for you.
