Yesterday, I celebrated watching a film about how women improved working conditons at a southwest US mine in the 1950's.
I feel so proud of the role that women have played in making society a better place. I'm doing a series this month about women in the literacy genre. If you like to read it the blog is www.frappy.blogspot.com

Gennee, I have bookmarked your site. I have a couple of friends who are far more literate than I, and will show it to them.
I have one friend who can, but does not read, and it is such a shame.
The lady that I take care of every day is 93 years old, reads for hours each day, and is sharp as a tack, until she watches TV with her son, and it noticeably dulls her mind, just that fast!
I boycotted TV about 3 years ago, after discovering that I had wasted countless hours watching Star Trek.

There's not much on cable either. I will update the blog tonight. I hope you and your friends enjoy it.
