Pam Bennett files for Aurora City Council At-Large

"Aurora, CO: The Pamela Bennett for City Council Committee is pleased to announce that Pamela Bennett had filed to become a candidate for Aurora City Council At-Large.

In announcing her candidacy, Bennett emphasized to her supporters and
to the residents of the City of Aurora her strong belief that to realize the City's potential and to improve the quality of life for all residents, the City must working diligently to plan for the future while maintaining a disciplined approach in managing growth and development.

"I am running for office because I want the citizens of Aurora to be
in control of our city," Bennett noted, "I see Aurora at the beginning
of a great opportunity to shape our future in the 21st century and
even beyond. What we do now affects our working men, women and
families today, and their children and grandchildren for a hundred
years." She stated, "We need leadership on city council representing
all working families and business owners. I look forward to being that
leader"

Expressing her desire for important new community enterprises in
Aurora, Bennett remarked "From a year around use racetrack, to a
performing arts center, to adult and youth centers located around our
great city, there is much for Aurora's citizens to look forward to,
and for visitors to come to Aurora to enjoy too." Bennett added that
"The cost of our water and how it is paid for must still be looked at
no matter what the current situation is.", she continued, "Our
wonderful city must let our working families and business owners be
the guiding force of how we work and grow as a major city in the
Aurora-Denver Metropolitan region, Colorado and our nation."

Bennett pointed out that filing for the race this early shows her
determination to represent the citizens and business owners of Aurora,
"Citizens of Aurora need to see someone who wants to represent them
now and in the future, someone willing to work hard to be their
representative. I placed my paperwork in early because I want our
working families and business owners to know I am in for them now."

After serving in the U.S. Air Force and working for 20 years as a
technician and engineer in the aerospace, electronics and oil and gas
industries, Bennett has focused on serving her community. Currently
an Aurora Commissioner where she serves on the City's Veterans
Affairs, Bennett has served as a precinct person in Arapahoe and
Jefferson County, as a Legislative Volunteer for State Representative
Morgan Carroll and is active with a variety of non-profits in the
community.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Pam Bennett earned a B.S. in Resource
Development from Michigan State University and worked for 20 years as
a technician and engineer in the aerospace, electronics and oil and
gas industries. Following her retirement from her technical career,
Bennett has focused on serving her community and being actively
involved in the legislative and political process in Colorado. She is
currently enrolled at the Community College of Aurora in an American
Bar Association approved paralegal certificate program for her
paralegal certificate.
