Nipple fluid. And breasts.

So, the other night, I discovered that If I squeeze the area arrond my areolas, a clearish fluid comes out of my nipples.
Interesting.
Plasma as far as I can tell.
My nipples have been hurting and sore lately and that has been interesting.
I've seen this sort of thing with other girls including cisgendered ones.
My friend says that when her boobs were growing out she had teh same thing a bit when they were earilier on as well as nipple pain and soreness.
Interesting.
I've heard all people can produce breast milk under certain cercumstances regardless of gender.
I wonder if this is related.
Does anyone know anything about this or has experienced any of this?
I know the pain and soreness are common, but what about the fluid stuff?

I've experienced it once or twice.

This often happens in the first few months of HRT.
Happened to me.

Unless your prolactin levels are very high,
which your doctor can verify easily, no worries.

High prolactin usually only happens under high doses
or non bio-identical estrogen like ethinilestradiol, so
I'd be surprised that its that. But, its not impossible.

I wasn't to worried, especially after my friend said it happened to her when hers were growing out.
But yeah that makes sense.
Perhaps a normal part of puberty for girls.

Just make sure your prolactin levels are normal while you are lactating. Someone I know has a pituitary tumor. She discovered this a couple of months ago. Why did it progress as far as it has?

Because she was sooo excited at lactating all of the time in copious amounts that she didn't want to 'find out it would all be spoiled if something was wrong.'

You are definitely not silly, Sara. And I imagine that nothing is problematic with what you described. Some leakage is a natural part of many young women's growth. But please do have your levels checked to try and be sure.
