Okay, so I confess, I'm an idiot at the whole chat thing. All those little little abbreviations, how to embed pictures and stuff, the basics escape me. So I hereby suggest we start an idiot's guide to Susan's, of sorts, kinda a collection of best practices and shortcuts and stuff.
So I'll start:

HOW TO POST A YOUTUBE VIDEO:
step one: locate video to be embedded, say this one:
step two: copy out the bit in the URL (the address) that comes after the equals sign, in this case:
7k1z5M3BDZo
step three: in your post, double-click the above bit of extracted text to highlight it.
step four: locate youtube button on top toolbar. click
the text will now look like this:
[yt=425,350]7k1z5M3BDZo[/yt]
or as a shortcut, you can simply append the [yt][/yt] tags yourself.

Okay, so now my question of the day:
Is there any way of having a thread show up in your new replies section without you posting something in it? Using notify does work okay, but having forty notifications come through overnight on busy threads kinda overloads the brain.
