I am really new to this all. Until recently, most topics discussed on this site were just the occasional porn title I would stumble across. Now I'm suddenly thrust into this world, knowing nothing about it. Ive been scanning information sites, trying to learn what I can. Clinically/ professionally, there is some information, but I am wanting to know more about, specifically trans gendered, from the people who live it, not from a person who studies it.

I feel like I've awoken in a foreign country, not speaking the language. I hope you all can help me overcome my ignorance and become knowledgeable in this area. Any information and help I can gain will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Blick,

   Welcome.

Are you here for yourself or for another person who is close to you?

It is funny, but it is like being in a foreign country.  In a perfect world, all of this information and experience would be out in the open and everybody would have some knowledge of it.  I guess we're all working to get there.

The important thing is that there is nothing to fear from transpeople and there is nothing to fear in being a transperson.  We are all people and we share some of the same feelings and experiences, but we're also all individuals who struggle with our own daily lives and who have our own opinions and notions.

I'm sure you'll learn a lot just from casual reading, but don't be afraid of joining in a conversation and don't be worried about asking questions.

Peace,

Rebis
