Review Sought on Effort To End Transgender Law

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/03/14/AR2008031404013.html

Proponents of a Montgomery County law that offers broad protections for transgender people asked a circuit court judge yesterday to review the county Board of Elections' decision to place a measure that seeks to overturn the law on the November ballot.

Jonathan Shurberg, an attorney for Equality Maryland, an advocacy group for gay, bisexual and transgender people, said the organization questions the validity of signatures on the petitions that were submitted, the wording on the petitions and the process the board used to certify them.
