Hi Riven,

Welcome to the boards. I'm really new myself, and still finding my way around here. There are many friendly people here, that's for sure.

I am impressed with your ability to comb through all the old threads and our nonsense to find insightfullness!!   (which is apparently not a word...oh well, it is now)

Welcome!!!

And was that a "y'all"?  I feel so at home...where are you from?

I've found the experience useful, and it's lovely to find peers - proper peers who go 'I know' when you say something instead of 'What?'.
So welcome.

Hi Riven,

        Welcome.

I remember we used to be quite serious for a time as we struggled to understand ourselves.   I feel that for the past several months, we've achieved a sense of comfort and have maybe veered away from the big meaningful search for ourselves.  Maybe finally finding others and being able to express has taken the edge off.

Feel free to ask questions or to answer ours  :)

The big shift I have seen is a move from topics about external matters to topics about internal matters. I think that will make people gigglier also as they try to express themselves but not in a heavy way.

Texas  ;D

I put a lot of this into my intro thread but i'll try to summarize it here. I never fit into a "mans" world and never was able (or really wanting to) make friends with many guys. You know, the guys that go hunting, huddle around nfl games quaffing beer, poker night, strip bars, etc. Just not for me.

And many of my interests and hobbies are different from what I know other guys are into. I just never belonged, and as some have said it was rather lonely at times.

I have a very "layed back" personality, very even tempered most of the time.

I've been married for years and my wife and I have a awesome connection. Now that i'm more aware of what is going on inside of me i'm pretty sure a good deal of our connection is my ability to see things her way. Also, i've always been able to communicate with women rather well in normal real world situations (but was never suave in a bar situation).

And i'm feeling some desire to experiment with my feminine side now that I know about it.

Also, discovery of my feminine side explains a lot of the things that happened to me earlier in life; frankly it has been a relief to be granted understanding is this area. For years I had questions, and now I have answers.

So, we'll see where this journey eventually leads. What I have read here has been quite informative and helpful in that effort, and I appreciate those that have shared their wisdom and experiences so that people like me can learn.

That's kind of a stereotype, minus the NFL bit, and I know more than a few women who are very into pro football - I think its the Title IX deal and going to big sports colleges - most guys don't hunt, or do poker night, or go to strip bars.  Not even the ones I know, and they are pretty butch guys.

Yeah, I thought about that after I typed it in, I meant no offense. I was trying to describe a certain type of male behavior that I see a lot of and don't identify with. Maybe I picked some poor examples.

I know of a lot of guys that hunt, fish, go to strip bars, etc. Maybe it is a texas thing  :P

Well, as someone from Kentucky, I know that stereotype and I'm related to it several times over.  :D  Actually, since I was the only female bodied kid, I got pushed into those activities with the boys.  I was a little more comfortable with the boys, but not doing that stuff.  Of course, it was better than playing dress up.  I still don't like girly clothes.  They're like prison.  Ick.

I don't like men's clothing... suits, ties, button down shirts, dress shoes... completely useless... and definitely like prison. Luckily I don't have any of that stuff taking up space in my closet.

Some girly clothes are fine w/ me.... but no high heels for me either!

We could trade

Mostly, jeans and flannel shirts are what I live in

I get the feeling lots of androgynes are most comfortable in leisure wear - Pj's, sweats, comfortable shoes (or functional shoes like Pica Pica's), jeans, natural fibres, side burns, smoking jackets and turkish slippers (for keeping our stash of opium).

This could be a new tag line: Androgynes - the people of leisure.

High heels may be the stupidest things ever invented!  Why would anyone want to torture themselves by wearing heels??  They HURT!!!!!!!!  I really don't understand the women who wear them at my workplace.  I can see in some places (okay, not really, but anyway), but the place I work is not a high heel place.  It's just not.  Although, we do sit all day, so maybe that makes it easier.  You won't catch me in heels just anywhere.  I have one pair and I might wear them once a year...to a wedding or something.

I am fond of chunky shoes and platforms though.  And, I must confess, I just bought a pair of hello kitty skimmers.  That's right, kids.  I now own Hello Kitty shoes...they're so cute, though.
