Yep, I read about all of the 'racial confusion' that would arise if the Civil Rights Act was passed. *sigh* People just never learn do they? I bet some of those same folks were alive to that concern then as well!!
The confusion in the mid-60s and into today by that piece of legislation was the confusion that is always caused among the dominants when the subordinates are declared no longer subordinate. Ya just no longer have that assurance that you are better than someone else and can assault, murder, degrade and treat them as though they have no right to earn livings, have connections with others and generally go about their business without the imprimitur of the government stamped on their discriminatory treatment by the Citizen's Action/Focus on the Evangelical Family folk.
