Every single subgroup of the human race has a fringe element. We are not immune from this fact of life. Rather than dividing the community we should be pointing out that those who are intentionally showing a negative image of the transgendered to the general public are in fact in the fringe. We should shout out to the world that the Jerry Springer crowd is not representative of the transgender community in general. You have the same thing in the Gay and Lesbian communities, and in the general population with those who molest children. Just because we are transgendered does not make us a threat to the safety of society. This should be our response when these issues are raised to those who write the laws which guide our civilization. Do this instead of pointing out that CD's are different from TS's and so do not give them the same legal protections. The rights we fight for are the rights that every human on this planet should have regardless of their designation or affiliation.
