I came out at work about a month ago and have been full time since for the month of April.  There has been a few that doesn't speak to me anymore because I am Trans but on the whole have been made to feel welcome by my co-workers.  The Lesbians at work have really went out of their way to make me feel welcome not only as one of the girls but also as a member of the GLBT community, bless their hearts.  All the other girls at work have been great too.  My first week some the girls that I don't work directly with in the command came up to talk to our Executive Assistance (EA) and asked if that the one?  I didn't hear them but our EA told me about and then she told them, "No, that is Ericka and she has a mouth and if you want to know something about her ask her.  Now get out of my office with that Sh*t (I heard her tell them that)."  Ever since that even those few have welcomed me as one of the girls.  I've even been in on some of the girl talk in office for that last two weeks.  So I think transition is going good. :icon_dance:

Sounds like you are working with a good group of people. This is something I will never be able to do in my present job. Mine is a very male oriented industry. I have been considering change careers because of it.

Thanks girls,

I work as a government contractor and we support the Pentagon and another Agency in the DC Metro area, I thought that because all of us are ex-military and we have a few military personnel & I am one of only seven women in the office of about fifty people.  It was put out by our Director that he totally supported me and that everyone how has a problem with my transition then they need to deal with it their self's and don't bring it to the building.  In short discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.  And anyone that has a problem with me just doesn't speak to me.  No worries I don't think I'm missing anything by having those few not accepting me.

Me, too, Erika.  In fact, the Navy client keeps asking the company to bring me back full time.  A week from today, we fly east for a summer of work.  I've been the project manager three times, twice as Robyn.  Just going back to help this summer.

Nice to hear your company is supportive, too.  Those who ignore you now will probably come around once they realize you aren't coming to work in fishnets and a micro-mini or trying to seduce them in the copy room.  <grins>
