Maggie MacDonald (macclavey ( AT ) gmail (DOT) com) of Santa Cruz CA is a professional photographer who is doing a personal study of people who have gone through a major life transition. She is including transgendered people in this project. She believes that the camera reveals the spirit and the joy of people who have gone through major life changing events. She takes photos of the subject without charge and provides some mounted prints of the shoot. Maggie has had professional showings of her nature photography work and has had her photographs published in national magazines. The University of California at Santa Cruz's web site features many of her photos.
She assures that she will not show or publish the photos unless a contract is signed. The contract is not required for her to do the shoot and we can use the photos as we see fit. She respects privacy. All she asks is to get credit for her work. She is very adept at retouching the photos with Photoshop. One of my girlfriends also did the photoshoot and was absolutely delighted. Her choice was to use the inside studio but I chose to be photographed in the gardens outside of Maggie's home. There is nothing prurient or tasteless about the offer.
I had a delightful time at her beautiful seaside studio near the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. My next session will be of me, bare foot on the beach wearing rolled up jeans and a big denim shirt. Here is one of the shots that she did of me yesterday. This is a proof and has no retouching. I am very impressed and pleased with her work.
