Hundreds Are Arrested in U.S. Sweep of Meat Plant

A joke sent by a Spanish decent friend of mine, I posted in "Humor" on another forum got a comment. It seems that they had to point out Indians were in the Americas before the Europeans. I did point out the Asians got here first.

History has many flaws mostly politically motivated. The Europeans did bring slaves to do the grunt work at little cost. Even though there has been a civil war ( text books,War between the States) slavery promoters just took advantage of loopholes and just down right avoidance of getting caught today.

Today most people in the US ignore that slavery is still fueling our economy. Walmart one of the biggest promoters. In the exchange of goods for money the end worker has very little to say about what he receives for his labor. Laws and survival keep him from negotiating a fair price. If the buyer had a strong moral character they would make sure the labor is treated fairly. If in all the world labor was treated fairly then there would be very few wanting to move for a better life.

We can not go on living as if the rest of the world are our slaves. The age where some get paid thousands of times more than the lowest workers has got to come to an end. All our lives have equal value it is just that some provide more benefit to society than others but not that much more.

I realize it is going to take more than individual effort. It is going to take a government that has more a commitment to life than to greed.

I agree. Well done, Lisa. And I imagine most of us don't think in such terms. Imperials seldom do. Congrats to you for being able to live in an imperial society without becoming an Imperial. *smile*

I agree too.

People who argue against against equity are unimaginative.  Probably afraid of trying new things.
