Urgency of transitioning

How did you derive that meaning from her post? I didn't read it that way at all. I don't see where she said anything about what you "have to" do. She was just making a statement about how she feels.

That is why I asked... I did not understand...  if your transitioning and you don't WANT to" what is the other reason? Because you
feel compelled (HAVE to) to? Or is there something else?

OK, I read your sentence again and now I see what you meant. It should have a comma in it: "you HAVE to, not WANT to?" That makes sense: a choice between two different types of motivation.

At first, without the comma, I read "you have to not want to" as "it is necessary that you lack any desire to do so."

even read it back after your first post to see what the problem was and I did
not catch it.

You see the problem is I know for the most part where a comma is needed
but I get lazy and don't do it. I think I'm doing good to capitalize and use periods
For business letters and the like I'm overly cautious and spend
too much time making them perfect, here... not so much

You see the problem is I know for the most part where a comma is needed but I get lazy and don't do it.

Sorry! I just guessed you must be British.  They quit punctuating years ago and don't even know the comma exists any more.
