Hi guys, I just started T on Thursday afternoon and I'm pretty excited.

I'm just wondering how quickly other people noticed changes . . . specifically voice changes.  I don't know if I'm crazy or what.  My throat has been all weird and I've been having to clear it a lot and it's just felt ... weird.  I've noticed that when I go to talk I seem to be starting lower than usual, it kind of cracks, or it jumps between lower and higher.  I thought I was just imagining at first because I figure there's no way things could change that quickly, but then today a friend said I sounded different.

So . . . am I crazy?  I don't seem to be getting a cold or anything from what I can tell, but there's something going on with my voice/throat.  Is it maybe just me talking lower and not thinking about it (though I can't usually do that very well and what's happening right now seems to be just happening with no conscious thought)?  Basically: can changes happen this quickly?!

Oh, and also: is it normal/OK to have a big muscle twitch/spasm when the needle is in your leg?  I think it was just the way my foot was on the ground, but I don't know if it was because of that or not.  I don't want to be doing something wrong if that's what that means . . .

No, it won't change that quickly. I started thinking the same thing when I started T, but it was just wishful thinking. It was at least 2 weeks before I noticed anything voice-wise, and it gradually changed until month 2, when it dropped significantly. It'll happen, dude.

OK thanks. I didn't think it could change that quickly but it just seems really crazy and I have no idea why.  Hmm.

i didn't really notice my voice until i hit the month mark.  now i really notice it and its like a switch flipped 'cause i'm getting "buddy, guy, and sir" a hell of a lot.

i've never had the muscle spasm thing... yeah try to keep your foot flat.  i think your leg is supposed to be parallel to the floor?

My voice change was subtle, but obvious after about three days.  It does happen.

I think the (imagined) vocal changes are just a matter of projection. You finally started T, and are excited about the changes you know will occur. It definitely puts your mind at ease, and I think a lot of us probably started speaking lower, subconsciously, as a result of finally getting to our goal (that being T).

But it does take a few weeks for T to start thickening the vocal cords, and thus making your voice drop.Took me a month or two before I started hitting the puberty squeaks.
