The University of Cincinnati's Student Government Association and Faculty Senate recently voted to support including "gender identity and expression" in the university's non-discrimination statement.

More than 100 hundred colleges and universities nationwide have already included similar language in their statements. Ohio University added the language into their non-discrimination statement in 2006 and The Ohio State University in 2004.

Cincinnati passed a law prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity and expression in 2006, according to the Transgender Law and Policy Institute.
