Press release

Now that the NYS Appeals Court has made the shameful decision to continue denying access to marriage for same-sex couples and our families, we're taking the fight to the Legislature.

We will be working with our friends in the Legislature and with religious leaders, union activists and other allies who have been boldly advocating for our community to pass a marriage bill in the Assembly and Senate. Let's show lawmakers it is not just lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who care about marriage, but that it is also New Yorkers from all walks of life.

Here's what we need you to do right now after the court decision to put the leadership in Albany on notice that this issue is not going away.

Call Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and let them know that we expect immediate action in passing a marriage bill. Let them know that you stand with the majority of New Yorkers who support equal access to marriage and let them know that we will not accept anything less than full marriage equality!

Call Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno at 518.455.3191

Call Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver at 518.455.3791
