"Health Minister George Smitherman and Premier Dalton McGuinty are to
be praised for their progressive and humane decision to restore OHIP
coverage for sex-change operations. Gender-identity disorder is a
serious medical condition and, although very expensive, its treatment
is called "appropriate."
