"Cross-dressers, or "the third sex" as they are often called, cause
confusion for teachers, parents and pupils. The practice of dressing
as a member of the opposite sex is particularly evident in all-male
schools, but in girls' high schools "boyat" – an Arabic slang term –
is becoming increasingly commonplace."
