Eight gay Georgians heading to Dem. convention
State falls just shy of goal for LGBT delegates

With a goal of sending 10 gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender delegates to Denver in August for the Democratic National Convention, Georgia achieved in electing eight during its final delegate election May 24, according to the state Democratic Party.
