Transsexual or not, he-she deserves to be fired

A transsexual who was fired by BC Ferries for incompetence and putting the safety of her co-workers and ferry passengers at risk has lost her claim that she was fired because she was a transsexual and not for the reason BC Ferries stated on her termination papers.

According to Deborah Magnone, she was fired after rumours about her sex change operation poisoned the atmosphere where she worked, and not for her incompetence at the helm, or the fact that she once left her assigned safety patrol. Never mind the fact that she twice came perilously close to crashing the ferry while she was at the helm.

To me it's a no-brainer. Experienced mariner or not, her safety record is appalling and I would have fired her too, sex-change operation or not.

I'd say their reasons for firing her were retarded, but that because she's a klutz, she had to be fired for the safety of everyone, or at least retrained. Crashing a ferry is no "oops" incident.
