So we can't legislate morality?

"And we're finding, to growing dismay, we're not up to the job! We no sooner are afflicted with one judicial fiat, decreeing that same-sex unions should be recognized as "marriage," then we are told in other court decisions that our grade school children must be taught to appreciate transgender and bisexual proclivity as well – and that if a young kid "identifies" himself as female, he must be permitted to use the girls' restroom at school, and even come to school in a dress!"

I'd think he'd at least consider the snaps of him with his penis sticking through a cardboard box that were made when he was in college. They could resurface, I would imagine. They were published in the mid-seventies when he was tight with the Orange-juice Queen, Anita Bryant, and her gay-bashing that was making national headlines.

When you're as old as he is, washed up in your chosen field and your name isn't George Burns, Katherine Hepburn or Henry Fonda, maybe you just go for whatever pub ya can find

Wahoo! Who appointed him as a legislator of morality? Oh, himself of course...  ::) Well, I never liked his music, and his opinions and critical thinking skills aren't doing much for me either.

Just like everyone else throughout history who tried to do the same.

I believe he would say the answer to that is god.  Of course, if you asked god, you might get a different answer.

Now why would She tell you that, sweetie? Must be having you on a bit.

Mom tells me he's just an aberrent contrarian and has been a handful to mother over the years.

Says she loves him, but he occasionally requires a longer time-out than most of her other children!!

She also says he gets on pretty well with the other aberrent children in the time-out room!  >:D

So we can't legislate morality? .. "And we're finding, to growing dismay, we're not up to the job!

"From our founding days, there was a universal acceptance of the Ten Commandments"

I don't want to be accused of Christion bashing but the good book had this to say on slavery and women:

"When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are"

"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished"

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's"

Anyone here want to buy a nearly new 'wife' ..

1) I don't like this article either, but y'all have already said the things I'd say (and a few others I'd not thought about...) so;

2) After reading all the bat*****ery coming out of the
,
I really feel they don't fight fair by not having a comments section.  So many times I've wished to challenge their pronouncements <sigh>

3) is this his REAL picture?

Does he color? Does he botox?

IMO, he's not deserving of comparison to an Oscar Wilde novel ::)

Of course, Pat probably wouldn't want to be in Wilde's company either....  >:D

Yeah, well he ruined both Big Joe Turner and Little Richard, so Oscar would be in fine company.

pssst....thats judiasm, not christianity

I'm often annoyed by the religious rights' appropriation of Judaism when they need an old testament law to prove some point.

what always makes me giggle is that as gentiles, they wouldnt even have been allowed IN the temple

Jesus was all about rejection of the Old Law.  The New Testament isn't very long on specifics and what it does specify has to do with kindness and charity, hardly the stuff you can run an empire on.  Scripture was adapted to meet the needs of the Roman Empire and exercise social control for the benefit of the upper/ruling class.  The song remains the same, I'm afraid.

I love the way he lumps atheism in with anti-semitism and racism, btw.  Very slick.

You can't piss on my shoe and tell me it's raining.... especially while quoting the good book!

I have to wonder.... exactly when was marriage pulled into any federal law?  It isn't in the constitution is it?
