"The journey to the GLAAD Board Meeting in Los Angeles turned into
quite the trip. The logistics of it all weren't set until late Friday
when it became apparent that (a) the schedule just wouldn't allow me
to bring the dogs and (b) I realized that I had enough "points" to
stay at a nearby hotel. Still, To make it all work I got up at 2am
and was on the road shortly after 3. I was making the 420 mile drive
in pretty good time until traffic came to a standstill about 60 miles
east of LA. They closed I-10 down to a single lane for construction
(at 8am on a Saturday morning?) - a glitch that delayed me for over an
hour."
