"Our State Legislative Director Chris Edelson gives his take on the New
York State Assembly voting yesterday to add transgender protections to
the state's anti-discrimination laws:

Great news from New York—on Tuesday evening, the State Assembly voted
by a more than 3-1 margin to pass GENDA, the Gender Expression
Non-Discrimination Act. GENDA would prohibit discrimination based on
gender identity or expression in employment, housing, public
accommodations, and access to credit. The assembly vote was 102-33,
including 11 Republicans who voted in favor of the bill."
