THE PROFESSIONALS

THE Royal College of Nursing celebrates diversity and is committed to developing good practice and equal care for all.

It is sadly the case that most lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people will experience some form of homophobic behaviour in their lifetime.

According to a report by Stonewall and NHS employers in 2007, some 6% of the UK population is lesbian, gay or bisexual.

This means that of the 1.3 million NHS employees in the UK, a significant number will also fall into this category.
