Hello all.
So i'm pretty new around here... but i wanted to share

I went out for the first time this weekend as a female (i dont really count those few Halloweens in high school....) and it was great.
I was a bit nervous but... actually quite calm... it was weird... maybe its cause Im far more comfortable as female anyway.... so i guess the nervousness was the standard how i look etc etc... or more actually was worrying about running into someone i knew

But yea... I shaved really well... put on a bit of makeup... some cute clothes and me and my wife went out for a nice walk down by some resorts and golf courses in the evening.

It... just felt good to have it not be a big deal.  I think we even got checked out by a couple of guys  ;)
The only person who I think even really noticed something was up was a little kid... he kept staring back at me... but whatever... it actually kinda made me laugh.  I just imagine this 7 year old being like "mommy why was the boy a girl??"

anyway Im still glowing from the experience.... it feels good

well,Lizard,

i actually like that choice of name. welcome to the forum. Tink will be along to send her welcome to tell you to follow the site rules and check out the Wiki.

but anyway, i'm proud you went out and were yourself. i'm also glad your wife was willing to go out with you on your first time. she really loves you for you as i know many spouses who would never go out with their honey the first time, if sometimes at all. i wish you two many years of wedded bliss wherever your journey takes you.

Cool, Liz!

Amazingly scary how perceptive little kids are.  Not much gets past them at all, LOL.

So cool that you had someone to go with you. First time I went out I was absolutely terrified. That was true for the second, third, and fourth times too.

Congrats on getting out and about! :)

A lot depends on your own self confidence. People also will turn around and look at you if you're looking good!

yea kids are... brutal...  But thats ok.

It was quite nice having someone to go with... if for nothing else so she could tell me " stop fidgeting, you look fine"
I think i looked pretty cute.. and im pretty sure the guys we past were actually looking cause we looked good, not cause they thought something was weird.

Agreed, they are the worsest people of the lot, especially the teenage schoolkids at chucking out time. Interesting is it not how adults are too 'restrained' to get involved for reasons known only to themselves but the kids are fearless and oblivious to socially acceptable standards of behaviour.  My greatest battles are dealing mentally with the constant baiting and abuse from schoolkids.......legal contraints prevent me from saying what I might wish to do to them   >:D

Hello Lizard, congrats on your first outing, a feeling and a memory to stay with you for ever more I am sure. It is even better when you go on your own  :P

That must have been a wonderful feeling, I cant wait until I get my first chance.
My only barrier right now is the makeup, I really don't know How to apply it very good.
I end up putting on too much and we all know how that looks.
I think that I will have to go see someone who applies makeup as a profession and see
if they can come up with something that works for me.

It gets easier the more you are out Liz.  :)  I remember my first time, I was an absolute wreck but it still turned out well and my wife had agreed to acompany me. She didnt like it at all at first but we both got more comfortable as the day went on. By the end of the evening she was coaching me.  :) I think having another female with you does help though, its almost like an affirmation to others that you are who you present as. Wait til you start using the female restroom by yourself. Now that is nerve wracking.  :o

Hi Liz and welcome,

Your first outing must have been absolutely thrilling for you and they do get easier each time.

I am glad that your wife is with you during your passage.  It is great to have someone you care about be there for you.  But don't sweat the restroom, if your wife will agree, she should go with you as a wing person. I was going to say 'man' but there would not be fair to her or you. :)

I used a restroom in the County Courthouse for the first time in.  My friend was with me and I just needed to pee.  It really wasn't that biga deal.

Go on to the next one and have fun!

Love,
Janet

Going out is much better than staying in.  Staying in is for shut-ins.

Amen!  Kids, especially toddlers will out you in a heartbeat.  But then, there will come a wonderful day when the toddlers accept you as female without question.  I thought that day would never come, but it did, quite some time ago.  All my customers' toddlers play peek-a-boo with Miss Bev, or show me their new toy, etc.  Now, at last, to them, I'm just a mom (echoes of Croc Dundee....'just a sheila')
