"Before we get started: I use the word sex in this post to describe what a lot of people would call gender. When I say sex, I mean biological sex — the genitalia you were born with or that you've acquired through surgery. When I say gender, I mean how you identify — you could feel masculine but happen to have female genitalia, or you could feel feminine and have male genitalia. I identify as feminine and I'm female."
