"My intention was to visit my mother in stealth mode, i.e., guy mode. My sisters and I had exchanged several email messages and I could not help by agree with them that it was unlikely my mother would be able to handle my coming out. I realized that if I did come out, I would be doing it for me, not for her. She just didn't need that in her life."
