"In mid-June, someone leaked the video to the press of Duanna Johnson being beaten by Memphis, Tennessee police officers. So in a public reaction that doesn't seem be one of keeping priorities in perspective, on of the Memphis PD's public responses has been to start an investigation to find out how the videotape was leaked to an attorney.
So here, a few weeks out from the video being released of Duanna's February 12th beating by police, there has a homicide of an African-American transgender woman, her body was found by a daycare employee, steps away from a where the employee worked. The location where the body was found is near an abandoned apartment complex and a strip club."
